General Election 2017: Midlands Matters - Derby North
Derby North is the tightest Conservative held consistency in the country.
In 2015, just 41 votes stood between Conservative Amanda Solloway, who became the MP, and Labour's Chris Williamson, who lost his seat.
Two years later the battle has a familiar feel and some familiar faces.
Solloway and Williamson are again standing for election, along with Lucy Care, who also stood in 2015 for the Liberal Democrats, and Bill Piper the UKIP candidate.
Profile- It is a largely suburban consistency just to the north of Derby City centre where, historically, they elect either a Labour or Conservative MP.
- Manufacturing jobs are important with Bombardier, Rolls Royce and Toyota all major employers.
- There's also a major hospital, the Royal Derby, and a good size student population from the University of Derby to the north.
