A late try from Josh Bassett was enough to send Wasps through to the Premiership final with a 21-20 victory over Leicester Tigers.

The Coventry-based side were the favourites to qualify, and took the lead at the Ricoh Arena when Kurtley Beale touched down.

Both sides then had two penalties each, before Leicester fought back when Peter Betham scored a try in the corner. That levelled things up at 13-13.

But Wasps were able to go into half time ahead, with a late penalty.

After the restart it was Leicester who gained the initiative, and the lead, when Telusa Veainu got a try after an interception.

And that led to almost 30 minutes of solid defence from Leicester, holding off a relentless onslaught from the home side, who had topped the league table going into the play-offs.

But they couldn't quite hang on to the end, as the Wasps pressure told, and Bassett forced over in the corner.

Wasps will face Exeter Chiefs in the final at Twickenham next Saturday, after they won a dramatic game of their own, scoring a last gasp try to beat Saracens.
