Funeral for schoolgirl who died after fall from Drayton Manor water ride
The funeral of an 11-year-old schoolgirl who died after falling from a themepark water ride is set to be held in her home city.
Mourners will gather for the service in memory of Evha Jannath at Leicester's Saffron Hill Cemetery on Tuesday afternoon, a week after she was fatally injured on a school trip.
Staffordshire Police and the Health and Safety Executive are investigating the death of Evha, who died in hospital after being rescued from the water by staff at Drayton Manor theme park in Staffordshire.
The Muslim Burial Council of Leicestershire said it was providing help andsupport to Evha's family.
The council said in a statement:
The youngster's family said they have been "torn apart" by the tragedy and requested that the ride is suspended until the inquiry has concluded and thefull facts are established.
