Gloucester fail to dominate in European Challenge Cup final
Gloucester let an early 10-point lead slip to go down to Stade Francais as they failed to dominate in the European Challenge Cup final.
After four previous losses the French side took the trophy for the first time at the BT Murrayfield in Edinburgh.
Jonny May had opened the scoring following an interception but Sergio Parisse's try helped Stade level in the 32nd minute.
The French side continued to domaine in the second half and tries from centres Jonathan Danty and Geoffrey Doumayrou earned them victory.
The defeat also ended Gloucester's hopes of Champions Cup qualification as Northampton retain their place in the play-offs.
Ross Moriarty might have given the fans something to cheer about in the 79th minute but it was ultimately painful viewing for cherry and whites fans.
