Watch: 8,000 weave through the city in 10k run
It's the third year of the Great Birmingham 10k run and as predicted, thousands laced up their running shoes and weaved their way through the city's streets in aid of it.
This year, the event attracted around 8,000 sign-ups. This included runners from 23 Commonwealth nations as part of the Commonwealth Run feature, which highlights Birmingham's bid to host the Commonwealth Games in 2022.
The event that attracts a whole host of individuals of all different ages set off from Millennium Point, as runners experienced a different route from previous years.
ITV Central spoke to some of the runners about why they were taking part.
