A man has been jailed after killing his colleague with 'a single punch' following an argument over football.

Karl Swift was knocked unconscious by Dean Hartley before hitting the floor in New Road, Halesowen, in September last year.

Swift died in hospital two days later and although Hartley initially denied any involvement in his death, he later admitted punching the victim in self-defence.

Hartley, aged 30 and from Sheffield, was today found guilty of manslaughter and perverting the cause of justice following a trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

He has been jailed for eight years and three months.
