More than 10,000 gamers headed to Birmingham's NEC today (14 April) for the start of for the country's biggest gaming festival.

Insomnia60 attracts video game fans from across the country, who gather to play retro games, try out the newest technology, and even play against each other in competitions for money.

The event's director, Andy Smith, says the festival has always had strong links in the region.

Youtuber Yogscast Kim was at Insomnia60 this weekend. She recorded a vlog for ITV News Central to explain why gaming is so popular.
