Kettering hospital in special measures after inadequate rating

A health watchdog has recommended that Kettering Hospital NHS Trust be placed in special measures.

A report published by the Care Quality Commission found the trust was inadequate for being safe and well led.

It follows an inspection at the hospital last October.

The Inspectors raised concerns over staffing levels at the hospital's A&E department and said improvements were needed in children's services.

The Trust says plans to address the issues have been put in place.

The hospital also reiterated patient safety remains their top priority, and that rapid improvements will now be made to patient services.
