An inquest is being held into the death of a woman who vanished four years ago – despite her body never being found.

Lisa Bennett , 39, has been missing since 9th May 2013 and was last seen leaving a Selly Oak pharmacy. Her mother Janet reported her missing two weeks later.

An extensive search by police and appeals from family and friends has found no evidence or clue to her whereabouts.

Two years ago police admitted they thought that Lisa was no longer alive and considered she may have met her death shortly after she first disappeared.

Detective Inspector Warren Hines said at that time:

In February 2014, an unnamed 34-year-old man, from Birmingham, was taken into questioning on suspicion of murdering Lisa. He was later released on bail.

Four months later in June 2014, specialist forensic teams scoured a flat in Abdon Avenue, Selly Oak, where it was believed Lisa – originally from Burton - stayed in the run-up to her disappearance.
