Police warn public to avoid area as incident continues
Police in Nottingham have confirmed that they have evacuated a number of homes to ensure the safety of residents as they continue to deal with an incident in the Dunkirk area.
Officers closed Cloister Street, at the junction of Abbey Street, after receiving reports of two youths on the roofs of residential properties just before 8am this morning.
Police say they have put appropriate measures in place to look after residents including a rest centre at the local Johnson Arms pub providing them with free tea and coffee.
The incident is ongoing and people are being advised to stay away from the area.
There are a number of road closures in the area.
