A puppy had a lucky escape after being thrown out of a third floor window in Melton Mowbray.

Gypsy was nine weeks old when she was hurled onto the street moments after her owner threw a vase out of the window onto the street below.

RSPCA inspector Andy Bostock, who investigated, said:

The puppy, now named Rosie, was rehomed to Marilyn Spencer in Leicestershire.

Marilyn fostered Rosie back in September 2016 and once the court case was over, she was able to fully adopt her.

Her former owner was jailed for 14 weeks after being found guilty of causing unnecessary to the pup. He was also disqualified from keeping all animals for three years.
