Masked men 'armed with shotgun' threaten staff in building society

Two masked men armed with what's thought to have been a shotgun threatened staff in a raid at a building society in Shepshed in Leicestershire.

It happened at the Nottingham Building Society in Bull Ring at around 1.25pm this afternoon.

Police say that although the robbers made off with cash, nobody was injured in the siege.

Police are at the scene and are conducting house to house enquiries and trawling CCTV footage as part of the investigation.

The crime scene is close to a number of schools and police are asking to speak to people who were in the area between 1 and 1.30pm.
