Did you sing on My Ding-a-ling?

In 1972, guitarist Chucky Berry performed at the Locarno Ballroom in Coventry. One music historian in the city says it was there that his biggest hit was recorded and it features people from Coventry. Curator Pete Chambers said Noddy Holder from Slade was also on the recording.

Peter Chambers says that Berry's hit "My Ding-a-Ling" has more Coventry people singing on it than any other record, including those recorded at Coventry City.

Pete said: "The London Sessions album featured studio recordings on side one and a live 23 minute Coventry set on side two. Word has it the Lanch demanded a share of the subsequent profits, but they never got as anything. Chuck Berry at the time referred to the gig “as a defining moment in his career” he later however dismissed it, (a typical Berry trait) claiming he didn’t remember Coventry especially."
