Coventry City have appointed Mark Robins as their new manager, following the sacking of Russell Slade.

The 47-year-old will take charge for the first time against Bradford City on Saturday, after signing a contract that extends beyond the end of the season.

He previously managed the Sky Blues between 2012 and 2013, guiding them up the League One table, before leaving for Huddersfield Town.

Robins also spent time at Scunthorpe United before returning to Coventry.

The club will be hoping for another climb up the table, as relegation continues to look likely, with his new side 13 points from safety at the bottom of League One, with 11 games to play.

He does have a trip to Wembley to look forward to however. Coventry face Oxford United in the EFL Trophy final at the start of April.
