'No decision' taken over future of Leek Hospital
Health bosses have spoken out about the future of Leek Hospital in Staffordshire, insisting that 'no decision' has been taken about its future.
It follows speculation that the hospital was set to close in September.
The North Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent Clinical Commissioning Groups have said that 'no decision' had been taken about the future of the region's community hospitals, adding that action would not be taken without a 'full public consultation'.
It was confirmed that the consultation would begin in May following local elections, and once NHS England had given approval.
There was also confirmation that the provider of hospital services had begun talking to staff about the future consultation.
