Council tax hike for residents

Rushcliffe Borough Council has approved proposals to raise residents Council Tax by 4% in 2017/18 at its Council meeting last night.

The council say the rise represents an increase of 9 pence per week for an average band D property, they claim this ensures the council tax rate in the area is amongst the lowest in the country and in the county.

The increase is part of wider budget plans approved at the meeting last night, including more flexible car parking charges in some areas. Councillor Neil Clarke, Leader of Rushcliffe Borough Council said:
