Jack Bereton, the Conservative Party candidate for the Stoke Central answers five questions ahead of the by-election.

1. Who do you most admire?Winston Churchill. He was one our greatest Prime Ministers and helped guide our country through some of the most challenging times in our history. However, he was not only a great leader, but also a fantastic speaker, author and artist.

2. Where’s your favourite place in Stoke-on-Trent and why?The old Spode Works site is my favourite place in our city. I’ve worked so hard on the council to tidy up this important historic site and it's fantastic to see it now starting to come back to life. It is steeped in our rich industrial heritage, at the centre of our important ceramics industry and it is fantastic to be part of making it a place where creativity can thrive once again.

I would particularly encourage anyone to visit the Spode Museum to get into the true history of the site when it opens again later in the year. We now have a clear plan for it future and the space has started to be transformed under my watch, and not only is it attracting back artists, students, and many others, but its bringing more new jobs which is fantastic news for our city. I’m so proud to have been involved in this project.

3. What will your priority be if you win?Well I’m campaigning hard on a strong plan that will deliver for Stoke-on-Trent Central.

I want to see more investment in our city, and off the back of that, I want to see more jobs for our young people, as well as more opportunities for the next generation to get the skills they need to succeed in those jobs. I also want our city centre to be a safe and welcoming place for local families, so I will continue to work hard to make sure that this happens.

Electing me will send a strong message to the whole country that here in Staffordshire, we back the Prime Minister’s clear plan for Brexit.

4. What’s your favourite TV programmeI love Game of Thrones.

5. What’s your favourite song?My favourite song is Coldplay’s Sky Full of Stars.
