It has been confirmed that Godfrey Davies has been selected as a candidate for the by-election to be held in Stoke-on-Trent Central.

Chosen by The Christian Peoples Alliance, Mr Davies is a retired deck officer from the merchant Navy.

The by-election was triggered by the resignation of Tristram Hunt, who stood down as an MP to become director of London's V&A museum.

It's said that Mr Davies is standing on a platform of "A clear vision for Britain".

He claims the CPA is the only party that in the 2014 European Elections put forward a clear vision of what Britain would be like outside the EU and what process should be followed after leaving.

He says:

Godfrey Davies joined the Christian Peoples Alliance last July and became part of its Council in October 2016.
