A disabled woman was attacked on her doorstep by a gang of teenagers who tried to steal her mobility scooter.

Tracy Planas was punched in the throat outside her Nuneaton home as she tried to stop the group making off with it.

When Tracy, 45, went to make a cup of tea she didn’t expect to be attacked just minutes later right outside her home in Lexington Court.

The mobility scooter was parked outside and when she heard the group making noise outside attempting to steal it, she went to tell them to move along.

She claims that two girls then attacked her, punching her in the throat and pulling her hair.

Tracy’s daughter Britanie, has been disgusted by what happened to her mum. She said:

The police and the ambulance service were called and Tracy was checked over but had fortunately suffered no injuries and didn’t need hospital treatment.

Tracy already suffers with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and relies heavily on her mobility scooter to get around.Britanie added:

An order was made by police over the weekend to move on groups of trouble makers in the town centre, after a rise in anti-social behaviour and hate crime.

Britanie believes that it is the same group causing problems throughout the town.

Warwickshire Police confirmed that they are investigating after a member of public reported a disturbance at a property in Lexington Court.
