Neighbour of Bethany Hill tells court he heard a thud 'like a head hitting a wall'

A neighbour who lived above the flat where the body of a young woman was found, told the court that he heard shouting and general disruption before Bethany's body was found.

Two people - Kayleigh Woods and Jack Williams - are currently on trial accused of murdering 20-year-old Bethany Hill in Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire in February last year.

She suffered multiple stab wounds in what prosecutors called 'a brutal, sadistic attack' and wasn't found until 12 hours after her death.

The neighbour - who lived in the flat above - said there had always been disruption.

He said he was allegedly woken by a large bang and around half an hour later he thought he heard a thud which sounded 'like a head hitting a wall'.

He then went on to say he heard what sounded like a female voice moaning as if someone was in distress, which lasted around 15 minutes.

When asked during cross examination why he didn't call the police, he said if someone had called for help he would have done.

But, he thought there were three people in the flat, so there would be someone there to help the person in distress.

The jury also heard a statement from Bethany's father, in which he said they had spoken the night before her death. She had said she was ok but wanted to come home.

Both Woods and Williams deny murder and the trial continues.
