Road remains closed after burst pipe causes severe flood in Birmingham
A Birmingham road which was flooded after a main water pipe burst will remain closed today as repairs continue.
Fast-moving water could be seen rushing down Harborne Lane near Selly Oak yesterday after the pipe burst.
Severn Trent Water released a photo revealing a big hole in the spot where the pipe burst. They added that the pipe itself is 10m below the ground, meaning that it will be a significant operation to try to fixit.
Road closures will remain in place on Harborne Lane from the new roundabout at the junction of the A38 up to the petrol station just before the junction with Quinton Road.
Severn Trent say that mid morning today they're hoping to be able to open up Harborne Lane further up to Reservoir Road.
Members of staff will be manning the traffic lights during rush hour, between 6am - 10am and between 3pm - 8pm to make sure the traffic is kept moving as much as possible.
