Large water pipes burst causing flooding and road closures

Large water pipes have burst, flooding Harborne Lane near Selly Oak. The road has been closed in both directions, and is not expected to re-open for 'some time'.

Severn Trent Water say they have now turned off the pipe and so there should be no impact on customer supplies.

Severn Trent are also warning the burst pipe could cause discolouring in water. Although it is believed there is any health risks, customers are advised to run taps for up to 20 minutes.
