Grantham A&E to remain closed overnight, Trust says

The Accident and Emergency unit at Grantham and District Hospital will remain closed overnight for the time being, United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) has said.

The Trust's board met earlier this morning and approved closure between the hours of 6.30pm and 9am every day.

Trust director Suneil Kapadia told the meeting, which was attended by campaigners from Fighting 4 Grantham Hospital, that the “best case scenario” now will be to re-open the unit in February once staffing levels across Lincoln County and Boston Pilgrim are adequate.

Thousands of people protested against the closure in Grantham over the weekend.
