Four people injured after collision in city centre

Inquiries are continuing this evening into the circumstances surrounding a collision in Leicester city centre which left four people injured.

Police were called to Humberstone Gate just before 5pm following a report of a vehicle colliding with pedestrians.

Emergency services are still at the scene and the city-bound side of Humberstone Gate remains closed.

Two people have been taken to hospital, one woman with serious injuries and a man with minor injuries.

Police say they were a lot of people in the area at the time and are asking members of the public to come forward with any information.
