Charity struggling to cope with number of cats coming into care

The RSPCA branch in East Lincolnshire is full of cats desperate for homes.

The charity says it is struggling for space and has appealed to local people to try to help bring the cat population under control.

The RSPCA says the answer to the cat crisis lies in neutering cats, to prevent unwanted pregnancies.

In Lincolnshire in 2013 a unique local cost price neuter scheme was set up with Marshland Vets in Boston in conjunction with the East Lincolnshire RSPCA Branch. In 2014 this one veterinary surgery neutered 130 cats through the scheme.

This scheme is still running and is now being spread to other veterinary surgeries in Lincolnshire.
