Appeal to find four men who tried to pull cash machine from wall
Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery in Exhall where it was reported that armed men had tried to pull a cash machine from the wall.
Officers were called to the Co-operative store in Coventry Road around 9.30pm on Wednesday 26 October.
Reports say that the four offenders had attached a truck strap to the machine and a Land Rover Defender, before driving off to pull the machine off the wall.
Their attempt was unsuccessful however, because the strap broke.
The offenders then tried to smash their way into the store but staff closed the shutters so that they couldn’t get in.
At the time of the attack, there were three members of staff and a customer in the store. It’s said that nobody was injured and nothing was stolen during the incident.
The offenders are believed to be white men wearing dark clothing and face coverings. They left the scene and drove off in the direction of School Lane.
