Appeal after man kicks pigeon to death in Stoke-on-Trent
The RSPCA is appealing information after a man kicked a pigeon to death in Stoke-on-Trent.
The animal welfare charity was called to Tower Square on Tuesday afternoon (25 October) after a woman saw a man walk out of a shop and kick a pigeon.
RSPCA inspector Charlotte Melvin responded to the call and visited Tower Square to speak to witnesses and look at CCTV footage in the area.
The charity is now appealing to anyone in the area at the time who may have seen what happened to get in touch.
Inspector Melvin said:
The man has been described as white, approximately 30-years-old, of slim build and wearing a beige coat. He was seen getting into a silver Peugeot.
If found guilty of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal under the Animal Welfare Act, defendants can face up to six months in prison and/or a £20,000 fine.
