Woman chased by ‘killer clown’ in Black Country said she was left petrified

A woman in Bloxwich has been the latest target of the recent 'killer clown' prank craze spreading across the UK.

22-year-old Shaniece Price was driving with a friend in the town centre when a man wearing a clown mask ran towards her car.

"I was driving and pulled over on the High Street. The clown saw my car and ran over and I nearly crashed as I drove off.

I drove back on the High Street. I waited for the all-clear and got out of my car and he came out of nowhere and chased me."

Miss Price said the clown figure followed her as she tried to flee to a nearby pub and stood in the doorway staring at her before finally leaving her alone.

Miss Price has a massive phobia of clowns which made her petrified.

"Because it was midday there weren’t a lot of people in there. It was horrible, I was shaking. The worst part was when he was chasing me.

There are people out there with clown phobias and they are putting themselves in danger and all they’ve got to do is jump out on the wrong person.”

The ‘killer crown’ craze is said to have been inspired by frightening pranks involving knives in the US.

Police are warning potential offenders they may be committing a public order offence as various reports emerge across the UK.

Other sightings across the region have led to calls for the pranks to stop before harm is caused.
