Prince Harry in drive to help youngsters become sports coaches
Prince Harry will visit the home of cricket to help in a drive to makeyoungsters become sports coaches.
Harry's trip to Lord's Cricket Club is part of the Coach Core sports coachingapprenticeship. It works with 16 to 24-year-olds who have limited opportunities, and trains them to be sports coaches, positive role models and community mentors. Harry is to meet apprentices who have taken up the challenge.
Coach Core was launched in London in 2012 and Glasgow in 2014. It now works with 42 organisations, including sports clubs and community bodies, and plans to reach 100 by Spring 2017.
Nottingham Forest, The Marylebone Cricket Club, Welsh Rugby Union, Glasgow Sport, West Ham United, and Essex Cricket Club are playing their part in the programme.
The scheme was designed by The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.
