Shrewsbury Town have confirmed manager Micky Mellon has left the club by mutual consent.

In a statement on the club website, they confirmed Assistant Manager Mike Jackson has also left the club, while goalkeeping coach Danny Coyne will take charge of training and Saturday’s League One game at Bradford City.

Mellon is understood to be joining non-league side Tranmere Rovers.

He was appointed as Shrewsbury boss in 2014, guiding the side to promotion from League Two during his first season in charge.

Shrewsbury are currently 22nd in League One, having won just twice in 11 games this season.
