Two people charged with concealing a birth

A man and woman have been charged with concealing a birth in Bedworth.

Skeletal remains were recovered yesterday (21 September) by Warwickshire Police near to the railway line near Queen Street.

The remains are undergoing forensic testing to determine whether or not they are human.

Officers say they are conducting an investigation after they received information relating to a concealment of birth, reported to have taken place in August 2014.

Claire Cook, aged 24, from the Bedworth area and James Hamshaw, aged 23, of no fixed abode, have been charged with concealing a birth and are due to appear before magistrates today.
