A Paralympic swimmer who scooped a Bronze medal in Rio has returned to school where he was given a hero's welcome.

Sixteen-year-old Lewis White from Swadlincote came third in the S9 400m freestyle.

The teenager, who was the youngest man on the British Paralympic swimming team, was surprised even to get into the GB team let alone get a place on the podium.

Today he had his first day back at school, the Pingle School in Swadlincote, where staff and students had laid on a surprise reception for him.
