Today marks the 100th birthday of the much loved children's author Roald Dahl, one of the country's best loved writers.

His writing career which spanned six decades and is best known for his hugely popular children's books.

Including "Matilda", "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", "The BFG", and "James and the Giant Peach".

It's estimated that over 250 million copies of his books have been sold globally, while his works are available in 58 languages.
