Trio have lucky escape after tree smashes into car

Three men have miraculously escaped unscathed after a falling tree crashed on top of the car they were travelling in.

Paramedics were called to the scene of a fallen tree on Main Road in Newcastle Under Lyme on Saturday morning.

“A matter of seconds either way and the van might have escaped completely undamaged; but equally, the large tree trunk could have landed on the cab with potentially devastating consequences. All in all, they are three very lucky guys,” said a spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service.
