Plane forced to make emergency landing after tyre bursts
A plane carrying 76 passengers from Amsterdam to Manchester was forced to make an emergency landing in Birmingham when a tyre burst after take-off.
Flybe flight BE1274 was diverted on Monday afternoon after a problem with one of the main wheels.
Birmingham Airport runway was closed for half an hour but reopened soon after 16:00.
The plane landed safely and there were no reported injuries, according to a spokeswoman for the airport.
A spokesman for Flybe said that the emergency landing was made as a"precautionary measure to take into consideration more favourable windconditions".
