The X Factor made an emotional return on Sunday night as a single mother from Telford who previously had a recording contract was given a second chance.

In an emotional moment, 39-year-old Rebekah Ryan explained to the judges that she was just 17 when she was signed by MCA Records.

Despite having a single that hit the UK Top 40, she was dropped shortly after.

After a jittery rendition of Hozier's 'Take Me To Church', Simon Cowell prompted her to sing Sarah McLachlan's 'Angel' - which she did, in style.
