Golden shopping trolley for golden boy Adam Peaty
A supermarket in Uttoxeter is celebrating Adam Peaty's Olympic success with a golden shopping trolley!
The 21 year-old swimmer from Uttoxeter in Staffordshire became the first British Olympic Champion in swimming since Adrian Moorhouse in 1988 and broke the world record not once, but twice en-route to the podium.
Steve Biggs, who is the general store manager at the Asda on Carter Street said:
Team GB has soared up the medal tables over the previous 20 years, having won just one in Atlanta in 1996. Staffordshire has played its part in this year’s success with Peaty and Joe Clarke winning Team GB’s first and second gold medal respectively.
