The brother of Joel Richards, a victim of the Tunisia beach massacre, has told ITV News Central how important it is for his family to keep his memory alive, as they launch a memorial fund in his name.

Joel was 19 when he was killed alongside his grandfather and uncle in the terror attack in Sousse just over a year ago. His younger brother Owen was also shot, and had to pretend to be dead to survive.

Joel Richards was a referee and was passionate about football. He was actively involved in grassroots football and was chairman of the Birmingham County FA Youth Council. Today his family are officially launching the Joel Richards Foundation Legacy Fund. A day of celebration, including workshops and a football match, will be held at the Birmingham FA's Ray Hall headquarters.

Joel's brother Owen told ITV News Central how the family hopes the fund will keep Joel's memory alive and leave a lasting legacy.

The fund will be used to help train local young coaches, referees and volunteers. The Birmingham FA says that "by applying through the fund, individuals will have the opportunity to receive funding to help support their progression through their football journey – something that was tragically taken away from Joel all too soon."
