Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett fired by new owners
Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett has been sacked from his position, just days after the club's new owners publicly backed him to stay.
The 54-year-old has had his contract terminated with immediate effect.
At a press conference on Monday, the club's Chief Executive Jez Moxey insisted that Jackett was the coach 'going forward'.
Jackett joined Wolves at the beginning of the 2013/14 League One season, regaining promotion to the Championship at the first attempt.
In the following season, Wolves finished in seventh position, missing out on the play-offs on goal difference.
The decision was taken by new owner Jeff Shi, who was in Wolverhampton on Monday to meet fans and talk to the media.
