Sections of the Chiltern line from Birmingham to London are closing for nine days from today (Saturday 30 July).

Chiltern Railways are replacing old signalling equipment with modern LED signals at Banbury. The company says that "as well as putting in a new, more reliable track layout, this will help keep Chiltern Railways trains some of the most punctual and reliable in the UK."

This weekend, trains ARE running between the following stations:

  • London Marylebone and Bicester North

  • London Marylebone and Oxford Parkway via Bicester Village

  • Solihull and Birmingham Moor Street

There are replacement coaches between these stations:

  • Bicester North – Warwick Parkway – Solihull.

  • Bicester North – Banbury – Leamington Spa – Warwick – Warwick Parkway – Dorridge – Solihull.

  • Bicester North – Banbury – Stratford Upon Avon.

  • Leamington Spa – Warwick – Stratford Upon Avon Parkway – Stratford Upon Avon.

And a minibus shuttle service will operate between these stations:

  • Bicester North – Kings Sutton – Banbury

  • Warwick Parkway – Hatton – Lapworth – Dorridge – Solihull.
