Man who fell 100ft from Bullring in critical condition

A man who fell 100ft from the top floor of Birmingham’s Bullring shopping centre remains in a critical condition today.

West Midlands Police said the casualty, believed to be in his 40s, was critical but stable.

The mall was packed with weekend shoppers who watched as the incident unfolded at around 4pm on Saturday (23 July).

First on the scene were Bullring security staff, who immediately called an ambulance and began evacuating shoppers.

Three off-duty doctors who were in the shopping centre at the time also rushed to help before the air ambulance arrived.

The Bullring said the man suffered serious injuries and the bottom floor was sealed off and a white tent erected around the man as he received medical attention.
