Tributes paid to father killed in assault on a night out

A man from Chesterfield who died after being assaulted on a night out has been described as 'a marvellous daddy'.

Chris Henchcliffe suffered serious head injuries after an altercation on Corporation street in the town in the early hours of July the 3rd.

The 24-year-old was taken to hospital and later transferred to the Royal Hallamshire in Sheffield where he died on Tuesday July 12.

DI McGill said: “We know from CCTV images that there were a lot of people in the area of the alleged assault. Many of them have already spoken to us but we know there are others who have not yet come forward."
