Wimbledon champion Jordanne Whiley from Halesowen was praised by the Prime Minister on Twitter after her success at this year's championships.

David Cameron took to Twitter to praise the "new champ" after her Wheelchair Ladies Doubles win.

But the 24-year-old tennis star was quick to correct him with the fact that she is not a new champion but has in fact retained her title.

After the tennis paralympian from Birmingham cruised to victory with her Japanese partner winning in two sets at the All England Club.

Whiley and her partner Yui Kamiji achieved a calendar Grand Slam last year, winning at the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open.
