Muslims across the Midlands have come together to celebrate Eid and the end of fasting during the month of Ramadan.

A record-breaking 88,000 Muslims gathered in Birmingham to attended morning prayer in the city’s Small Heath Park before taking part in festivities including fairground rides, miniature golf and laser clay pigeon shooting, as well as enjoying a host of food and drink from local food stalls.

John Clancy, leader of Birmingham City Council, said:

“Birmingham is great at celebrating. This is a huge celebration and a day of great joy, great excitement, great peace and great calm in the middle of the city here in Small Heath Park.”
