Drayton Manor theme park is celebrating reaching new heights as it prepares to welcome its 50 millionth visitor.

The popular family attraction near Tamworth in Staffordshire is hosting a special event today in recognition of the milestone.

The 50 millionth visitor to the park will be presented with an exclusive access all areas package as well as a host of other treats including a five-year season pass.

The park was founded in 1950 by George and Vera Bryan, who reportedly brought the then disused site for £6,000.

The attraction celebrated it's 65th anniversary in April.
