Protests will be held today against the role employment agencies are playing in "shameful" work practices at retail giant Sports Direct.

The Unite union is organising a march through Chesterfield, including anactivist dressed up as Dick Turpin amid claims that workers are being "robbed" of their wages.

During a Parliamentary select committee hearing last week it was revealed that some workers received their wages through pre-paid debit cards which cost them £10, with an administration fee of £10 a month.

The company's Mike Ashley was defending the working practices at their base in Shirebrook.

Unite regional officer Luke Primarolo said workers employed through employment agencies were being subject to "daylight robbery".
