Lineker has 'no regrets' over pants promise
Gary Lineker has said he has no regrets about pledging to host Match Of The Day in his underwear following Leicester City's historic title victory.
The life-long Foxes fan made the now-infamous claim on Twitter in December, when he said he knew there would be "zero chance" he would have to honour it.
When Leicester City overturned 5,000-1 odds to be crowned Premier League champions, even the Prime Minister waded in to remind the pundit of his promise.
"Do I regret the tweet? No I don't, because it's been quite fun," Linekertold the BBC's Dan Walker.
"I did the tweet knowing categorically that there was zero chance of Leicester continuing on the line they were going to win the league.
"I was spectacularly wrong, but I am so glad I was."
Lineker made 194 appearances for Leicester during his playing career, scoring 95 goals - but without clinching his hometown team any major silverware.
When it appeared his former team would be on top of the league table atChristmas, he tweeted: "YES! If Leicester win the @premierleague I'll do thefirst MOTD of next season in just my undies.
