Northampton set to lose title winning boss Wilder
Northampton Town could be set to lose the man who guided them to a historic promotion with manager Chris Wilder being granted permission to speak to Charlton Athletic.
Wilder and Northampton, who were close to going out of business earlier in the season, lifted the League Two trophy at the weekend.
Town won the league by thirteen points and enjoyed a club record 24 game unbeaten run.
In contrast Charlton have been relegated from the Championship and manager Jose Riga quit after Saturday’s 3-0 home defeat to Burnley.
The two club’s will be in the same division next season but Cobblers chairman Kelvin Thomas appears resigned to losing Wilder and Assistant Manager Alan Knill.
