Local elections 2016: Nuneaton & Bedworth - Labour hold

Nuneaton & Bedworth council is the first of the Midlands councils to declare in the local elections 2016.

Labour have lost three seats to the Conservatives but Labour retain control of the council.

This is the new council make up:

  • 25 Labour

  • 6 Conservative

  • 2 Green

  • 1 Independent

The Nuneaton parliamentary constituency is regarded as a bellwether seat. Labour's failure to win it in the 2015 general election was seen as symbolic of its national failure.
