Vandals attack Birmingham cancer centre set up in memory of Harry Moseley
Vandals have defaced a Birmingham cancer centre set up in memory of schoolboy Harry Moseley.
Devastated mother Georgie Moseley discovered vandals had sprayed graffiti on the walls of the Birmingham Drop In Cancer Support Centre, set up last year by the Help Harry Help Others Charity.
Georgie, from Sheldon, posted pictures of the graffiti yesterday on social media, saying: “Why do I bother! Anyone know best way to get rid of this?”
Volunteers worked throughout the morning to paint over the graffiti, and now hope to catch the perpetrators with CCTV footage.
People took to social media to share their disgust at the vandals, who attacked the cancer centre sometime on Friday night.
Steve Whyley posted: “So awful, sorry Georgie. Makes me furious seeing things like this.
“Don’t let idiots like this get you down - you and the support centre are doing amazing things. Really sorry.”
Sandra Parker added: “Why on earth are people doing this. It’s disgusting.
“They are just the lowest people on earth. Find out where they live and do it to their property. Hope you manage to get rid of it xx.”
The centre, launched in May 2015, aims to provide support with anyone suffering with cancer and their families.
It is based on Georgie’s own experience when her son Harry was battling a brain tumour.
Harry, who died aged just 11 in October 2011, raised more than £750,000 by making bracelets after being diagnosed with cancer in 2007.
The centre offers financial advice, careers support, bereavement counselling, holistic therapies and charity workshops for anyone affected by cancer.
